In this third article of my PhD dissertation, I examined how L1 speaking style is connected to L2 speech fluency. The results demonstrated that most L2 fluency measures could be predicted from L1 fluency measures. Therefore, L1 speaking style should be more widely acknowledged as a factor affecting L2 fluency performance in L2 speech research, assessment and teaching.
